When I saw yesterday’s Roo Clue and read the comments of the very reasonable explanation of whom it might imply I started to cry. Seriously I was sitting in front of my MacBook, eating nachos, drinking Fat Tire and sobbing tears of joy because an Internet meme. (We’ve all been there before, am I right?)
I’ve been avid listener of First Aid Kit since reading about their sophomore album, The Lion’s Roar in one of those 2012 best of the year articles. I discovered their music right around time I left my ex-husband. Many of their songs fit that situation so perfectly; they seemed to be written for me. Their music was there for me during that time, it was a motivator and comforter.
Aside from my emotional ties to the lyrics penned by sisters, Johanna and Klara Söderberg. Their music is just damn good. Johanna and Klara are in their early 20’s, but their songs have an old soul and usually tell tales of someone beyond their years.
“King of the World” is my personal anthem.
I will sob again when I see them on the official lineup on February 19th or kick something if they’re not listed.
Anybody here ever cry when a band you loved was announced?
