Mixtape Monday: Pickin’ for the Pups

How does an evening of barbecue, beer, bluegrass for $20 sound? Amazing. And it’s for a good cause!

Join us Thursday, September 25th from 6:00 – 10:00 at The Mill for Pickin’ for the Pups. Pickin’ for the Pups is an annual fundraiser hosted by Chattanooga Goodwill Industries to raise funds for Goodwill Assistant Dog Academy. Purchase your ticket now and save $5 or pay $25 at the door.

The Goodwill Assistant Dog Academy provides trained service dogs free of charge to children and adults with physical disabilities. The raising and training process takes 2 years and costs about $20,000. Upon graduation from the academy, the dog knows over 92 commands and can do tasks such as opening doors and retrieving items. The dog is matched with a recipient whose lifestyle matches the dog’s temperament. The partnership between the dog and their new parent not only assists in gaining more independence but also becomes a loving companionship.

Tab Spencer, Mountain Cove Band, and Sweet G.A. Brown will be donating their time to provide the entertainment for the event. Sample their music here:
