A First Timer’s Guide to Suwannee Hulaween [2016 Edition]

Now that the dust has settled on the massive pre-party and wave two lineup announcement for Hulaween 2016 we’re ready to serve up the ConcertHopper.com guide to Hulaween 2016 for first-timers.

First things first, let’s discuss tickets: VIP tickets are long gone but you can still snag GA passes at the tier two price of $259 (as of press time) and Thursday night pre-party tickets are just $69. Grab them quickly, they’ll be gone before you know it! Single day tickets will be available at the gate for $105 and do not include camping. Important note: if you plan to arrive at the festival any time before Friday you WILL need a pre-party pass, NO EXCEPTIONS!

Getting There: So now that you’ve purchased tickets you need to get to the festival entrance of the gorgeous Spirit of The Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL. The entrance can be reached from both I-10 (exit 283) and I-75 (exit 451). Set your GPS to 9379 County Road 132, Live Oak, Florida and you’ll be all set. Watch your speed and be courteous of other vehicles as you approach the festival grounds and keep an eye on any festival signage.

Camp Weather: The end of October in Florida is mild with daytime highs hovering around 80°F and night time lows around 55-60°F. You can rock your usual summer festival gear during the day but you may need to layer up for chilly nights. May I introduce y’all to leggings by Sloth Steady? That’s what I’ll be rocking at night to stay warm and funky! Bring plenty of warm, cozy blankets for camp and don’t be afraid to accept that cuddle puddle invite!

Not planning to camp? See what festival partner Curadora is working with for hotel accommodations in the Live Oak area.

Art & Experience: From performance art to workshops, sculptures and a wide array of visual art, there will never be a boring moment at the 2016 edition of Suwannee Hulaween. At the center of it all, surrounded by Florida’s signature Spanish moss, is Spirit Lake. Check out the 2014 art recap for a peek at what Spirit Lake has to offer.

And you know we love to support all kinds of creatives at ConcertHopper.com so for another peek at what you’ll experience at Hulaween check out this beautifully shot and edited video by filmmaker Adam Danger Smith of CARCOSA Productions.

The Sounds: Last but certainly not least we need to talk about this seriously awesome 2016 lineup! Several sets of String Cheese Incident and Umphrey’s McGee, MY MORNING JACKET, Disclosure, Big Gigantic, The Claypool Lennon Delirium, and that’s just an incomplete reminder of the top 3 lines. Seriously folks, this is not the lineup to sleep on.
