Shaky Beats Music Festival 2016

Last year, the producers of the Shaky Knees Music Festival took a chance on an EDM/Hip hop festival named Shaky Beats Music Festival. After a prosperous and very energetic debut, the Shaky Beats Music Festival is back for some more! This year’s festival will be held once again in beautiful downtown Atlanta in the area known as Centennial Olympic Park during the weekend of May 5-7th, 2017 with over 45 artists scheduled to perform. Last year’s inaugural  lineup boasted such names as Major LazerOdeszaBig GiganticNasA$AP FergChromeoCherubPorter RobinsonDuke DumontFloating Points, and Classixx. How can Shaky Beats top last year’s lineup you say? Well let’s find out. This year’s lineup boasts a huge Big 3 that includes: The ChainsmokersKaskade, & Griz. Now let us talk about this year’s under card with such names like; FlosstradamusZeds DeadRL GrimeGramatikGirl TalkFlatbush ZombiesBonobo (Live), and Galantis.

  • Girl Talk – Cleveland’s very own Gregg M. Gillis (or better known as the artist, Girl Talk) will bring his brand of experimental, mashup of hip hop to this year’s Shaky Beats Music Festival. It has been over six years since his last LP, All Day, so this makes me wonder are we in for some new material? Only one way to find out.
  • Bonobo (Live) – What can I say? I can’t get enough of a live Bonobo set! Whatever you do at Shaky Beats, the one thing you cannot do is miss this incredible live performance of electronica/trip hop/chillwave/acid jazz. That is a fact! Bonobo is set to release a new LP, Migration, later this year so expect some new material to be performed at Shaky Beats.
  • Alison Wonderland – Australian DJ Alex Sholler (better known as Alison Wonderland) will bring her complex mix of trap/trip hop/chillwave/future bass sounds to this year’s Shaky Beats Music Festival. Check out her debut LP, Run, featuring the hit single, “U Don’t Know” which features Wayne Cohen (from The Flaming Lips).
  • Boombox Cartel – Meet Americo Garcia (Kozvik) and Jorge Medina (Medz) who make up the Alabama based rock/blues/house/funk band Boombox Cartel. Want to know more about them? Check out their official Soundcloud page and get in touch with your inner Boombox.
  • Ganja White Night – Now let us get acquainted with this Belgium based trio (Bamby, R-One, and Lebelge Electrod) who is best known for their approach to dubstep/electronic/drum and bass/dub. Check out their LPs, Wobble and Hybrid Distillery, if you want to know more about them at their official Soundcloud page.
  • Illenium – Nicholas Miller (a.k.a. ILLENIUM) is a Denver based DJ/record producer who has most recently made a huge name for himself in the EDM scene. His mix of progressive house/dubstep/trap/future bass/electronic house has placed Illenium on the fore front of the EDM world. Check out Illenium’s official Soundcloud page and judge for yourself.

So let’s get your trip to Atlanta planned out!
