Recently, Brant Bjork stopped by The Masquerade in Atlanta while on his Tao of the Devil Tour with Black Wizard and local greats Royal Thunder as the opening support. This was a really solid lineup featuring three amazing bands/artists that have been personal favorites of mine for some time. You may know Bjork as a former member of the legendary desert rock band Kyuss, Fu Manchu, and/or Vista Chino. Regardless of which band he is more recognizable in, Bjork has been rolling solo for the last several years while releasing eleven (11) LPs in this time span. If you are into blues rock mixed with a little desert/stoner rock for good measure, then Brant Bjork is definitely up your musical alley. His latest LP, Tao of the Devil, was released late last year and he has plans to release a new LP entitled, Jacuzzi, within the next year.
Black Wizard is an unbelievably talented, four piece stoner/doom metal band from New Westminster, British Columbia that has released three (3) LPs and one (1) live LP to date. Want to hear some of Black Wizard? Check out their Official Bandcamp page and see what all the fuss is about. These guys are definitely someone I will enjoy seeing live over and over again. These killer riffs from Black Wizard needs to be shared with friends!
Atlanta’s very own Royal Thunder was the next band to play on this night. And after being on the road for a few weeks, you could tell that the band was happy to play home and see some familiar faces which included some family members. Want to hear what Royal Thunder is all about? Check out their Official Bandcamp page today and see what track is your favorite from their four (4) LP discography.
