The Return of Umphrey’s McGee and The Marcus King Band to Augusta!

When it was announced earlier this year that Umphrey’s McGee (UM) and The Marcus King Band (MKB) would both make their return to the Garden City, I know the entire city of Augusta got really excited! I know some people around town had hoped that UM would make the lineup for this year’s The Major Rager, but the headlining spot went to The Flaming Lips and rightfully so. Do not count Friends With Benefits Production (FWB) out when it comes to curating a perfect lineup for this June 1st event being held at The Augusta Common in beautiful, downtown Augusta, Georgia.

Since we are less than a month away from this incredible night under the stars, we wanted to make sure everyone was ready to go dance and party with us in the Augusta Common! I know… I know… It has only been fourteen (14) months since UM last visited Augusta, but to most of us it seems like forever since they last headlined The Major Rager (2016). If you cannot tell already, UM is always welcome to play Augusta thanks to a die-hard fan base that would travel all over the Southeastern region to catch these jam gods perform. We are even going to help you out and give you a link to their personal Soundcloud page so you can get well versed in their extensive discography.

Like UM, it has not been long since MKB last visited the Garden City. Their last appearance was performing as part of the opening support for FWB’s event featuring Blues Traveler last October (2016) in Evans, Georgia. Even though it has not been that long since they last played, the return of the MKB is long overdue and much needed. If you have yet to hear any of their soul-influenced, Southern rock that the MKB has released over the last few years, you’re in luck because you can check them out using this link to their Soundcloud page.
