Summer may be winding down, but music festivals aren’t fading as the temperature drops. This fall will be full of awesome festivals like Imagine, Pilgrimage, and VooDoo; but we aren’t here to talk about those, we are here to talk about one of the most amazing spectacles the festival industry has to offer- Suwannee Hulaween.

Hulaween comes from humble origins. Starting in 2013, The String Cheese Incident teamed up with both Silver Wrapper (Islands of Light, North Coast Music Festival) and Purple Hat (Purple Hatter’s Ball, Suwannee Summer Clusterpluck) productions to create a completely unique festival experience.

Ever since it’s birth, Hulaween has put on amazing shows. The String Cheese Incident always headlines with two sets every night, and it’s first year out, Hula hosted Moon Taxi, STS9, and Big Gigantic, just to name a few. As the years have passed, the names have only gotten bigger, and the fest itself has only gotten better. In 2014, the grounds welcomed back Big Gigantic, and added Thievery Corporation and Beats Antique to their headline line-up. 2015 brought Chance the Rapper and Pretty Lights, and 2016 ushered in My Morning Jacket and Disclosure, among many, many other acts.

The festival welcomes an average of 25,000 people every year, but don’t let that number intimidate you. This event still has an extremely intimate feel that makes people come back year after year.

Spirit of Suwannee Music Park serves as a backdrop for this experience. The Spanish moss melting from branches, the scenic and serene landscape, and the tranquil Suwannee River all mesh to provide festival-goers a safe, inviting space to let go off all of life’s stresses and just live in the moment.

This year, we all expect great things from Hulaween. Attendance is predicted to be higher than previous years, and the lineup is a dream come true. There are already over 50 acts, and that’s just the first wave! The second wave is expected to drop any day now. This year’s line up features the hosting String Cheese Incident, Bassnectar, Ween, Griz, Run the Jewels, Portugal the Man, and the list goes on forever. If these headlines aren’t really your thing, there is literally an act to satisfy just about every music taste. Find your favorite genera below and check out some of the awesome artists that you can see at this year’s festival!

Hulaween isn’t your average festival, it is an experience. It’s more than just trick-or-treating around the block, its feeling connected with 25,000 of your closest friends.

To head over to the official Hulaween website to snag your tickets before it’s too late! When that second wave line-up drops, I have a feeling this year might be sold out.
