All Roads Lead to Exit 111
The infamous Great Stage Park in Manchester, Tennessee, also known to Bonnaroovians as ‘The Farm’, will now be hosting a brand new festival the weekend of October 11th-13th. This highly anticipated festival will be bringing a heavy dose of rock n’ roll and metal to Great Stage Park and will be known as Exit 111. This festival’s vibe will be a nice change of pace for Manchester natives who attend Bonnaroo and have grown accustomed to EDM, Jam bands, and alternative genres. The festival will be hosted by none other than the rock and metal guru, Eddie Trunk. Trunk is most famous for his work as a DJ for several rock and metal radio stations and TV shows. Between Trunk hosting and the staff at Great Stage Park who have a hand in curating Bonnaroo annually, this festival is shaping up to go down in history with the great rock n’ roll festivals across the nation.
The lineup for the event is out of this world and stacked from top to bottom with some of the greatest names in rock n’ roll and metal. Just looking at the headlining acts for the weekend has people securing those tickets, booking flights, and putting in those vacation requests at work. The three main acts for this rowdy weekend in Tennessee are Lynyrd Skynyrd, Def Leppard, and Guns n’ Roses. The headlining artists journey across a few different sub-genres of rock n’ roll from Southern Rock to Glam Rock, but they have all be staples of rock n’ roll for decades now. Lynyrd Skynyrd will be kicking off the weekend with some sweet Southern Rock vibes and they’ll have attendees singing “Sweet Home Alabama” all through the night until sun rise. On Saturday, attendees have the pleasure of breaking out their leopard print , leather pants and getting down to “Pour Some Sugar on Me” by Def Leppard. Finally, on Sunday, if attendees have any energy left in their bodies, they’ll be in “Paradise City” with Guns N’ Roses.
When glancing at the lineup, it’s almost hard to identify the under card artists versus the headlining acts - simply because they’re all huge names in rock n’ roll. The under card on the lineup is overflowing with talent with artists like Slayer, Megadeth, ZZ Top, Ghost, Deftones, and Cheap Trick. Just to start the weekend off with a bang, Slayer will be playing their last show ever in the state of Tennessee. This has Tennessee metal heads coming from all over the state to see this sure to be wicked final performance in the volunteer state. Besides Slayer’s final performance in Tennessee, the Deftones are making their only east coast appearance for 2019 which is sure to bring in festies from all over the nation. The Exit 111 lineup is shaping up to be a lineup that will go down in history as it is bringing together some of the greatest artists in rock n’ roll for one wicked weekend at Great Stage Park.
On top of the lineup that is stacked with out of this world talent, the Exit 111 curators have put an emphasis on activities and community engagements around the farm. Exit 111 will be hosting the Paranormal Cirque, The Red Bull Freestyle Motorcross Team, a car show, and a mega sports bar to keep attendees entertained in between the music all weekend long. To step into a darker dimension, attendees will have the pleasure of enjoying The Paranormal Cirque. The Paranormal Cirque will be combining theatre, circus acts, illusionist, freaks, and a cabaret by Cirque Italia. It is sure to be a freaky good time. For attendees looking for a little more of an adrenaline rush, the Red Bull Freestyle Motorcross team will be on site performing some of their high flying stunts and showing off their insane talents.
