Exit 111 Festival: A Fast Track to Flavor
Exit 111 Music Festival held its inaugural year in Manchester, Tennessee from Friday, September 11 to Sunday, September 13. The festival brought some of the biggest names in rock and metal music to Tennessee for a weekend of face melting fun. Alongside the stacked lineup of artists, curators at Exit 111 orchestrated some world class experiences onsite such as the Red Bull Freestyle Motorcross team, a car show, Paranormal Cirque, and some of the most popular craft food vendors that the festival scene has to offer. Curators at Exit 111 booked over 25 craft food and beverage vendors to be onsite for the three day event and they did a fantastic job with booking a wide variety of tastes and flavors to represent the broad interests of their attendees. These are the Top Five Food Vendors onsite from Exit 111 that had everyone’s taste buds on the fast track to out of this world flavor.
1. Tica’s - 5.0 - We give Tica’s a perfect score due to their diversity and huge presence at the first ever Exit 111 Music Festival. Tica’s is actually three different vendor that high the highlights of delicious festival food. Under the Tica’s umbrella, attendees had the opportunity to taste Tica’s Tacos, Tica’s Dank Nugs, and Tica’s Burger Joint. Between these three different menus, attendees had the opportunity to purchase items ranging from $5 to $15. Their Baller Nugs at Tica’s Dank Nugs were out of this world. Their Baller Nugs are chicken nuggets on a bed of truffle, Parmesan fries topped with scallions, bacon, shredded cheese and your choice of one of their dank dipping sauces. We highly suggest the Hot Honey Sauce. This is a choice that will definitely leave you full and your taste buds will be dancing!
2. Spicy Pie - 4.8 - Spicy Pie has become a staple at Great Stage Park over the many years at Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, so it should not be surprising to see that they will be slingin’ their delicious slices all weekend. The signature Spicy Pie slice consists of Pepperonis, Jalapenos, and crushed red peppers. This slice has the perfect amount of spice to it to take a traditional piece of pepperoni pizza to the next level. These giant slices of pie will leave your mouth watering and you will definitely want to pick up 2 slices!
3. Shady Grove Wraps - 4.5 - Shady Grove Wraps had one of the best selections for wraps specifically pertaining to breakfast. Personally, I am always very nervous to try breakfast wraps from vendors at festivals for fear the bacon will be under cooked or maybe the eggs could be too runny for my taste. Shady Grove Wraps had the dankest bacon, egg, and cheese wrap that I think I have ever put in my mouth. To top it all off, they even wrap a crispy hash brown right in the middle of it ! The egg was fried to perfection and it was hands down the crispiest bacon that I have ever had from a food vendor at a festival. We would highly recommend their breakfast to any early riser at a festival looking to fill their stomach with delicious fuel for the days festivities.
4. Island Noodles - 4.4 - Always coming in on top with their wok fired stir fry noodles is none other than Island Noodles. Island Noodles has become a staple of the festival community across the nation and they are undefeated when it comes to their Hawaiian meets Asian Inspired dish. These wok-fired Yaki-Soba noodles are stir fried in a medley of fresh vegetables and can come with fresh scoop of teriyaki chicken if your heart desires. If you have ever tried Island Noodles, then you understand why they consistently have one of the longest lines at a festival. You can find Island Noodles at a festival near you soon and hope on the noodle train with the rest of us!
5. Power Smoothies & Coconuts - 4.0 - Power Smoothies & Coconuts came in clutch for a quick nutritious refreshment. They had a few different booths located at main connector points for the three stages at Exit 111 festival which not only made them a nutritious stop. but also convenient . Their fresh fruit smoothies were absolutely delicious. We recommend the Strawberry smoothie for sure!
