Top 5 Food Vendors at Brainquility 2020
Brainquility Music Festival 2020 saw some expansions to the landscape and layout of the festival as curators are beginning to settle into Spirit of Suwannee Music Park. After learning the lay of the land in 2019, curators made some changes to the layout of the vendors to include a few new vendors this year. Brainquility puts an emphasis on providing the attendees with a fully immersive experience with no scheduling conflicts, which allows them to actually take a moment to truly enjoy some of the handcrafted dishes by some of the festival scene’s most popular food vendors. Here are the Top 5 Food Vendors that were on site at Brainquility 2020!
1. The Grilled Cheese Incident - 5.0 - We LOVE the Grilled Cheese Incident. They almost always pop in and set up their booth at any festival hosted at Suwannee Music Park. The Grilled Cheese Incident was located in the vendor row directly in front of the Live Stage and they sling a variety of grilled cheesy creations that take the idea of a plain ole grilled cheese to the next level. The fact they were conviently located directly in front of the main stage and offer several affordable and filling options makes them the best vendor on site - hands down! We had the opportunity to try their hashbrown bowl for breakfast finally and it was out of this world! A delicious bed of fried hashbrowns, onions, peppers, and cheese topped with bacon, a fried egg, and a sriracha aioli. Oh and don’t forget to grab a cup of Space Juice! It is honestly so refreshing in between sets at a festival. Their Space Juice is a honey sweetened lemonade with pomegranate and mint. We highly recommend stopping by The Grilled Cheese Incident if you’re ever given the chance!
2. Spontaneous Consumption - 4.8 - Spontaneous Consumption made a return to Brainquility with their plates that are piled high with handcrafted deliciousness. Spontaneous Consumption offers a variety of delicious southern inspired favorites such as loaded baked potatos, pulled pork nachos, and a variety of flavored sweet teas. We had the opportunity to try their BBQ Nachos this year and they were out of this world delicious. Nachos piled high with pulled pork, pickled jalapenos, shreeded cheese, green onions, cheese sauce and sour cream. The one downfall to this would be there’s way more chips that topping. So if you’re not eating strategically, you will end up with a bed of chips at the bottom that have no toppings on them. So my tip would be to get a fork and eat more strategically that I did. Also, you can’t go wrong with their Peach Swet Tea! Definitely pair your meal with one of their delicious flavored teas. You will not regret it!
3. T&T BBQ - 4.5 - T&T BBQ made their Brainquility debut this year and they were a heavy contender again Spontaneous Consumption with their trailer. Their handcrafted bbq plates were - as we say in the south - smack you grandmama type of good. We had the opportunity to devour and order of their BBQ Fries and man…we’re craving another order. They pack a food boat full of crispy, crinkle cut fries and then load them down with pulled pork, bbq sauce and cheese sauce. So. Freaking. DELICIOUS. My little southern soul was not complaining at ALL. If you have a chance to stop by T&T BBQ you should definitely check them out!
4. Dude Pancakes - 4.0 - Dude Pancakes brought their tiny food trailer that packs a massive punch to Brainquility 2020. Their trailer focuses on well…you guessed it. Pancakes. They take pancakes and craft them into these beautiful dessert tacos that will send your tastebuds on a wild ride. We tried the Chef’s Favorite to sample something a little out of the box. It’s a pancake with Nutella, Strawberries, Marshmallows, and Candied Bacon. The bacon added a perfect saltiness to the dish so it wasn’t overly sweet. If we ever see Dude Pancakes in the future, I would definitely try the Popeye’s Pick to try something more savory from their menu. I would highly recommend stopping by Dude Pancakes - especially if you have a sweet tooth!
5. Rice, Rice Baby - 3.0 - Rice, Rice Baby was on site of Brainquility 2020 with their hibachi style rice and noodle boxes. As an avid fan of Island Noodles, this tent peaked my curiosity. I stopped by to try their Teriyaki Chicken Noodle box with Yum Yum Sauce. I was honestly less than impressed. The box was legitimately just chicken and noodles. I guess I was expected some vegetable mix-ins similar to Island Noodles. The vegetable mix-ins provide complimentary flavors in the dish as well as some variance in textures. Also, I was not a huge fan of the chicken swimming in Teriyaki sauce. Which honestly surprised me - I’m normally a person who loves to get lost in the sauce. I came back later and tried their Teriyaki Chicken rice box which was a step above the noodle box in my opinion. The only thing I would personally change is adding some veggies to the noodles so that there’s a variance in texture and there are other complimentary flavors present in the dish.
