The Wooten Bros., Trombone Shorty & Alanna Royale = Best Birthday EVER!

My 26th birthday was Wednesday, December 4thand honestly it was my best yet. It started off with work, but my co-workers made my day special with e-mails, a card, office decorations and cupcakes. After work my longtime festy friend, Andrew picked me up and we ate at favorite my Tex-Mex place, Mojo Burrito. My burrito was free and delicious. Thanks Mojo!
Then we were off to Track 29 to see Victor Wooten and his brothers. The Wooten Brothers show was Andrew’s idea and a good one at that. They brought the funk and I’m definitely a new fan of theirs. Check them out on this tour. Their set was an entertaining and interesting timeline of their lives in music.
My birthday celebration continued last night with Christine. We enjoyed the night’s house specials at Public House. Christine had the chicken noodle soup and salad and I had the hot fish sandwich, which we both thoroughly enjoyed. Then it was off Track 29 again to see Trombone Shorty and Alanna Royale.
I discovered Alanna Royal after they won the Road to Roo contest this summer and fell in love with their music, but I kept missing opportunities to see them live. Needless to say I was crazy excited when they were announced as the opening act for the night a few weeks ago.

Their wonderful performance got us all warmed for epicness that was Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue. I have no idea why it took me so long to see Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue live. They were so much fun and I hope to see again soon. It was one of my favorite nights at Track 29, so far.

I ate yummy food and danced the night away twice with two wonderful friends. Oh and I met the beautiful and talented, Alanna. Here's hoping the rest of 26 is even more fun than 25.

How do you celebrate your birthday, Hoppers?
