Monolord with special guests Beastmaker, Sweat Lodge, & Leaving Babylon
Recently, we made the trip to see Sweden's own Monolord (Thomas V. Jager- guitar/vocals, Esben Willems- drums, and Mika Hakki- bass) on their very first trip to The Masquerade in Atlanta. We want to thank their management group for allowing us to come and take photos that night. This tour consisted of Beastmaker, Sweat Lodge, and Leaving Babylon as the opening act for Monolord for their performance in Purgatory. Unfortunately, we were unable to make it in time for Leaving Babylon, so we will have to catch you guys next time! Sweat Lodge is a psychedelic band from Austin that has toured with The Shrine, Kadavar, Graveyard, Orchid, Atomic Bitchwax, YOB, Acid King, Satan's Satryrs, Zoroaster, and The Sword. These are some heavy names in the doom metal category and I suggest that you check out what Sweat Lodge has to offer as well. They have just repressed their LP, Talismana, on a limited amount of vinyl and also digitally through their Bandcamp page .
Beastmaker formed in 2014 from the streets of Fresno, California and has recently released their first full length LP entitled, Lusus Naturae off Rise Above Records. These guys will also open later this year for desert rock icon Brant Bjork on his solo tour.If you like Orchid, Pentagram, Death Row, or Bedemon then give Beastmaker a listen.
Monolord is a doom metal band from Sweden who just made their debut at one of my favorite venues in Atlanta. These guys formed the band in 2013 and since then have not looked back. Check out their full length, Empress Rising, off Rising Easy Records and see why they have been creating such a buzz with their recent U.S. tour. If you are a fan of Sleep, Electric Wizard, YOB, Conan, Acid King, or Saturnalia Temple then Monolord is for you as well.
