Fall Festival Watch List
Just because summer is over doesn’t mean that festival season has to come to an end as well. In fact, there are a variety of festivals that take place during the fall all across the country. There are ten festivals in particular that we would like to shed some spotlight on. September
The Hopscotch Music Festival in Raleigh, North Carolina kicks off today and continues through Saturday, September 10. This festival features a wide variety of genres, with very few that are nationally recognized. Over one hundred artists are featured on the line up, and among these artists are Young Thug, Converge, and Blursome. This festival is definitely the place to be to discover new music across a myriad of genres. Music Midtown in Atlanta, Georgia takes place September 17th through the 18th and has a nice variety of big names on their lineup as well as some artists attendees may never have heard of before. Midtown should be a good balance of jamming out to songs you love while also discovering new artists throughout the weekend. Artists such as The Killers, Twenty One Pilots, and Beck are headlining the festival. Other than the music, Midtown also features a Ferris wheel and interactive sponsorship experiences throughout the park as well as over twenty food vendors that showcase some of the best eats in the Atlanta area. The festival offers 2 day General admission passes starting at $135 and caps at $1,200 for the high rollers that want to experience super VIP.
As September comes to an end, Pilgrimage Music and Cultural Festival will be taking place on Saturday, September 24th through the Sunday, September 25th in Franklin, Tennessee. Pilgrimage festival is set to see variety of names such as Beck, Kacey Musgraves, and Cake. Almost fifty artists are spread between six stages over the course of two days, and the hype for this festival must be real considering general admission for the weekend is sold out. October
Concert lovers can kick off the month of October by enjoying a free festival in Chattanooga, Tennessee known as the 3 Sisters Bluegrass Festival. The 3 Sisters Bluegrass festival will be taking place on Friday, September 30th through Saturday, October 1st. The lineup consists of 12 bluegrass artists, such as Keller Williams and The Keels, Dismembered Tennesseans, and Lone Mountain Band. To be a free festival, the line up looks phenomenal and definitely worth checking out.
Also kicking off the month of October is the Atlanta portion of Project Pabst. Project Pabst is a traveling concert series that is featured in Denver Colorado; Portland, Oregon; Atlanta, Georgia; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This festival is exclusively for individuals 21 years or older. The lineup features 21 artists including NOFX, Mastodon, Omni, Run the Jewels and Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaries. The first weekend of October is jam-packed with options for festivals, seeing that The Meadows in Queens, New York will also be kicking off on Saturday, October 1st. This two-day festival features a total of 45 artists from all genres, from hip-hop to alternative rock, with huge headliners. Artists such as Pretty Lights, Kanye West, and The 1975 are set to kick off this inaugural event. This festival has a variety of ticketing options ranging from 1 day passes to 2 day super VIP packages, which are all available through their website.
On October 7th III Points Music, Art and Technology Festival kicks off in Miami, Florida and carries through until October 9th. This festival aims to show off the side of Miami that isn't all instagram models and bottle service. Besides an amazing line up featuring a variety of artists from LCD Soundsystem to Thievery Corporation, III Points provides tech talks, lectures, labs, as well as music and art galleries. III Points has a variety of options available for tickets, such as day passes just under a hundred bucks and three day passes that come with VIP amenities. All ticket options are still available, but they are set up on a tier pricing, which means the longer you wait the more expensive they become.
When the month of October starts winding down, the question becomes what festival to attend to celebrate Halloween. There are three major festivals occurring over the weekend of October 28th through October 30th. These festivals are Suwanee Hulaween, Voodoo Music and Arts Festival, and Freaky Deaky Halloween.
Halloween Weekend
Suwanee Hulaween kicks off in Suwanee, Florida on Friday, October 28th and carries through until Sunday, October 30th. This line-up is packed with jam bands and EDM artists. This festival features 3 nights of the String Cheese Incident, STS9, Umphrey's McGee, Gramatik, Lettuce, and many more artists. Between the three main days there are over fifty artists. There is also a pre-party on Thursday, October 27th, that features two sets from Umphrey's McGee, EOTO and Friends, and GanjaWhiteNight. All VIP Packages for this festival have sold out, but there are general admission tickets still available for $259 plus a car camping pass, if you wish to drive your car to your campsite. Voodoo Music and Arts Festival is set to take over City Park in New Orleans, Louisiana from October 28th to October 30th. This line-up features a good balance of alternative rock, EDM, hip-hip, and pop artists. This festival not only features names such as Tool, the Chainsmokers, Porter Robinson, and Cage the Elephant, but there's also the chance to try some of the best eats 'Nola has to offer. Between 24/7 music, amazing food, haunted houses, and everything else New Orleans has to offer, this festival definitely stands out. Freaky Deaky Halloween is set to get things started in Bridgeview, Illinois on October 28th with a sick line up of EDM artists. Big names such as DJ Snake, Tiesto, and Disclosure are headlining the three day festival. Along with the main three days, there are several after parties that are said to be scheduled soon.
