Jim James: Live at The Tabernacle
Right now, what the entire world needs now is simply love. Just in time to spread the love is none other than Jim James. He is most notable for fronting the rock/jam band My Morning Jacket, but also recently released his second solo LP entitled, Eternally Even. In support of this newly released album, Jim embarked on a solo tour with his hometown Louisville, Kentucky friends, Twin Limb, as both the opening support and as his back-up band. Concerthopper.com was able to attend their recent stop at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, Georgia and we would like to extend our sincerest appreciation for allowing us this amazing opportunity.
In addition to playing some tracks from his latest like: Hide in Plain Sight, True Nature, Here in Spirit, Same Old Lie, Eternally Even, and In This Moment. Jim decided to pull out a classic Velvet Underground track, I'm Set Free and even added a Monster's of Folk tune, Dear God (Sincerely M.O.F.). But what really capped off an amazing night was his version of The New Basement Tapes cover, Down on the Bottom, and his own song State of the Art (A.E.I.O.U.).
Catch Jim James on tour in support of his new album with Twin Limb until December 18th in Birmingham at Iron City.
