Corrosion of Conformity & EyeHateGod: SOLD OUT in Atlanta!
When Black Label Society (BLS) announced a headlining tour that would feature both heavy metal giants Corrosion of Conformity (COC) and New Orleans sludge legends EyeHateGod (EHG) as the opening support, I grabbed my ticket just before this show sold out. Regardless of doing photo or not, this was a show I was not going to miss. Truth be told, I have not seen any of the bands performing this night so I was very excited. BLS is fronted by ex-Ozzy Osbourne axe man Zakk Wylde and has just released their tenth (10th) LP, Grimmest Hits, this past January. Check out their Official Soundcloud page to hear more of the infamous BLS.
I attempted to get photo for the entire show, but BLS would only have 3 photographers chosen for their set. Luckily, I was able to secure permission to photo for both COC and EHG, so that was better than nothing. Sludge metal titans EyeHateGod has been grinding together since 1988 and is considered one of the most well-known bands to come from the New Orleans metal scene. EHG's "core 3", Mike “IX” Williams – lead vocals, Jimmy Bower – guitars, and Brian Patton – guitars, has remained intact except for some minor changes over the years. Want to know more about EHG? Check out the following LPs: In the Name of Suffering, Take as Needed for Pain, Dopesick, and Eyehategod.
Since 1982, the North Carolina band COC has made some classic heavy metal albums such as Animosity, Deliverance, Blind, In the Arms of God, Corrosion of Conformity, and most recently their tenth (10th) LP on Nuclear Blast records, No Cross, No Crown. This latest LP would be the first time since the release of Deliverance (1994) that COC would tour with Pepper Keenan (rhythm guitar/lead vocals), Woody Weatherman (lead guitar/backing vocals), Mike Dean (bass), and Reed Mullin (drums). Not only that but it would be the first tour in nine years that featured Pepper Keenan back on lead vocals and guitar. Needless to say, COC is back and back with a vengeance.
